Matthew Wade’s all round skills with the bat and gloves is fast making an impact within the Australia side in all formats of the game. Born in Tasmania Wade made the move to Victoria in 2007 to improve his chance of regular state games and Australian selection.
The move paid off in 2011 after two outstanding domestic seasons with selection in the Australian T20 side. In Wade’s debut test series in 2012 against the West Indies he scored his first hundred for Australia on a big turning and bouncing pitch.
At 16 Wade was diagnosed with testicular cancer, which he overcame through chemotherapy.
